“My current work is about visually translating the power of language (especially found in music lyrics) into personal and emotionally charged, mixed media abstractions. When I work, I’m lettering, scribbling and scratching a mix of what I am hearing in the music as well as personal thoughts, then obscuring areas with layers of gestural color, collage and spray paint.”

Randall Slaughter lives and works in Cleveland, Ohio. He received his degree in graphic design from the University of Akron and has worked as a freelance artist as well as a hand lettering studio artist for American Greetings. He makes art Monday through Friday in his home studio and works the brunch shift at a local restaurant on the weekends. He shares a studio with current sideshow artist, Cheryl Andrey, who he collaborates frequently with under the name YeloBlu Studio. His other talents include complicating simple things, coming up with more questions than answers, procrastinating and snacking on chips.
