SKYSCAPES and NORTHERN LIGHTS
As the seasons shift and we move into the shorter, darker days of fall and winter, I find myself increasingly mourning the loss of light. This absence weighs on us all, not just physically, but emotionally and creatively.
These glass compositions are a response to that longing. I’ve begun to think of them as portals that hold onto the fleeting beauty of light and sky. In glass, color and light interact in a way that feels both pure and radiant, unlike any other material I’ve worked with. It doesn’t just reflect light; it holds it, transforms it, and offers it back.
Originally from Vermont, Kim attended Alfred University where she earned a degree in Fine Arts and K-12 Art Education. She began her career at the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts in PA and later went on to work for many years at the renowned Pilchuck Glass School.
